Team Leader – Late Shift (Warehouse)
Overall Purpose of the Job
- Provide effective team leadership within a designated warehouse section and support daily operations, workload coordination, and achievement of business targets.
- Ensure operational efficiency, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
- Support development of team members while fostering a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Lead and support a team to meet operational and customer demand.
- Train, mentor, and guide warehouse staff within area of responsibility.
- Assist Management to ensure inventory accuracy and correct stock movement
- recording.
- Maintain accuracy and functionality of warehouse systems and equipment including scanners, printers and scales.
- Identify operational or system improvements and recommend solutions.
- Resolve issues within authority and escalate when necessary.
- Produce operational reports and productivity statistics as required on consumables, lunch breaks, overpicks, time and attendance.
- Review ways to reduce waste, idle time, and inefficiencies.
- Ensure machinery and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
- Ensure staff compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure working environment.
- Support time, attendance, and people management processes.
- Communicate targets, priorities, and expectations to staff.
- Monitor performance and report progress to management.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport partners.
- Participate in stock takes, meetings, and training sessions.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in a warehouse environment.
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar leadership role.
- Minimum of 2 years’ general warehouse experience.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, SAP, Qwix or similar).
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Forklift certification (advantageous).
