Overview: As a Site Agent for a R 10 million civil construction project involving the construction of a wastewater treatment works, you will play a pivotal role in managing the site, overseeing construction activities, and ensuring successful project completion. Your responsibilities will encompass various construction-related duties, community liaison, documentation management, and hands-on supervision of the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:
- Lead and manage all aspects of a R 10 million water treatment plant project.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, construction planning, procurement, budget, and quality standards.

Supervision and Leadership:
- Supervise and provide leadership to on-site foremen and construction teams.
- Oversee excavation, surveying, setting out, concrete work, formwork, and concrete reinforcing.

Documentation Management:
- Handle all project-related documentation, including permits, drawings, schedules, and reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project activities.

Community Liaison:
- Act as a liaison between the project manger, CLO and workforce.
- Address community concerns and ensure open communication channels in team work with the community liaison officer.

Hands-On Construction:
- Demonstrate a hands-on approach to construction activities, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
- Personally handle tasks such as excavation, surveying, and concrete work as needed.

Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues promptly.

Civil Engineering Expertise:
- Utilize civil engineering knowledge to oversee and troubleshoot engineering aspects of the project.
- Provide technical guidance to the construction team.

Technical Expertise:
- Surveying
- Excavation monitoring and control
- Reinforcing and bending schedules
- Placing of the concrete and working to the required finish
- Formwork of concrete structures
- Constructing Löffelstein, ensuring precise installation and alignment.
- Internal roads and paving

Safety Compliance:
- Enforce and monitor safety protocols to guarantee a secure working environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Preferably a National Diploma in Civil Engineering or similar in related field.
- 10 years + experience for people without qualifications
- Proven experience managing civil construction projects, particularly in wastewater treatment works.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, concrete work, and Löffelstein wall construction.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with construction tasks and equipment.
- Familiarity with local regulations and permitting processes.
- Ability to handle documentation and project management software.
