Winter Resilience 2026/27 | Gatwick Airport
Ad hoc, on-call | Days, nights and weekends
Overview:
Want to be part of the team that keeps Gatwick moving when the snow and ice arrive? Logic 360 holds a direct contract with Gatwick Airport to supply Power Broom Operatives for the winter season, and we are looking for reliable people to join our winter resilience crew.
When bad weather hits, you will be out on site clearing passenger walkways, gate areas and terminal forecourts so passengers and airport staff can get around safely. It is outdoor, hands-on work and you will be making a real difference to the airport.
Please note: this is ad hoc, on-call work. Shifts are only available when there is a threat of, or a confirmed, snow or ice event. It is not full time employment and should not be considered a primary source of income. It is ideally suited to people who already work shift patterns, are self-employed, or have flexible working arrangements and are looking for extra income over the winter.
Responsibilities:
As a Power Broom Operative your duties may include, but are not limited to:
Operating power brooms to clear snow and ice from head of stand areas, passenger walkways, gate areas and terminal forecourts
Working safely in a live airside environment, following all Gatwick safety procedures
Taking direction from the Gatwick operations team on site
Reporting any hazards, equipment faults or incidents straight away
Benefits:
Competitive pay, with enhanced rates for nights, weekends and bank holidays
Paid training day at Gatwick
Airside pass applied for and managed by Logic 360, at no cost to you
The option to be paid via PAYE or Limited Company/CIS
Great extra income alongside your existing work
Be part of a friendly, committed team working directly with Gatwick Airport
Person specification:
Hardworking and reliable, with a good work ethic
Flexible and able to work days, nights, weekends and bank holidays
Able to attend shifts at short notice
Live within a reasonable commute of Gatwick Airport
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in cold and wet conditions
Good written and spoken English
A smartphone with WhatsApp, as all call-outs and updates are sent through our WhatsApp Community
Standard requirements:
Full right to work in the UK
Five year checkable history (employment, self-employment, education or benefits)
Five year UK address history
Valid photo ID
Willingness to complete a DBS check and airside pass vetting
Already hold a Gatwick airside pass? We would love to hear from you. We will just need your current employers permission to apply for a dual pass.
Training and airside pass:
All operatives attend a paid, one day practical training session at Gatwick, delivered by the airports own trainers. This covers manual handling, site familiarisation and the equipment you will be using.
To obtain your airside pass you will also need to complete some short online training in your own time, including security awareness, airside safety and fire safety e-learning. We will guide you through this.
Working hours:
This is ad hoc emergency work, so your hours will vary depending on the weather. Shifts are typically:
Days: 07:00 to 19:00
Nights: 19:00 to 07:00
Please allow extra time to get through security at the start and end of each shift. Call-outs, confirmations and weather updates all come through our WhatsApp Community, so notifications need to stay on at all times throughout the season.
Pay:
Full rate details will be provided at screening.
PPE:
You will need your own steel toe-capped boots, warm layered clothing and gloves. Logic 360 will provide your Hi-Vis jacket.
How to apply:
If you feel this opportunity would fit alongside your current work, we want to hear from you. Contact Stella, our Recruitment and Training Co-ordinator, for an initial screening call.
