The role is responsible for providing operational support to the facility management.   The position is responsible for assisting the manager and departmental supervisors with stock control processes, including stock take, issuing of stock & receiving deliveries.  Executing general operational tasks, such as arranging appointments, performing equipment checks & assisting with queries form part of the positions’ responsibilities.
Inventory Control                                                                  
  • Executes stock control processes together with the departmental (i.e. housekeeping and food & beverage) supervisors.  This can include (food, cutlery & crockery, linen, medical stock, etc.):       
  • Distributing order forms                                              
  • Completing stock orders                                    
  • Conducting stock takes                              
  • Issuing stock                                                            
  • Preparing stock orders                                               
  • Receiving stock                                    
  • Checks the content of the care center day- and night- cupboard against the record of stock used, replaces and notes charges for used stock.      
  • Conducts stock take on the emergency cupboard and replenish as needed.                  
  • Assists with ordering and issuing uniforms.   
  •   Issues incontinence wear and toiletries.                                                                                                     
Operational Assistance                                    
  • Gives and retrieves keys to/from supervisors, as authorised by management.               
  • Checks and reports gas tank and generator diesel levels with the Food and Beverage supervisor and oxygen tank levels with a Nurse. 
  • Informs maintenance team of actionable tasks, monitors project progress and provides feedback to manager on both scheduled and adhoc tasks.    
  • Conducts checks on the working order of emergency equipment and arranges service of equipment.         
  • Arranges and follows up with service providers regarding service delivery.                      
  • Performs operational checks as delegated by the FM.         
  • Checks that maintenance, housekeeping and food&bev documents are completed accurately.   
  • Assists with housekeeping delegation.                        
  • Assists manager with routine and adhoc operational tasks, as delegated (e.g. preparing rooms for new residents). 
  • Performs spot checks.                   
  • Assists to enforce uniform compliance (e.g. general presentation and wearing of name badges) 
  • Checks that vehicle log books are updated accurately.                                                           
  • Attends to and reports queries from residents, staff and families.
