Role Summary
Our client is seeking a senior growth execution leader responsible for building a national hydraulics footprint through:
- Greenfield branch development (new site rollout)
- Acquisition of existing hydraulic repair businesses
- Standardisation of workshops, equipment, processes, and ISO-aligned systems
This is a platform-building role, not an operational management role.
The successful candidate will directly shape the national expansion of the business.
Responsibilities
The role is accountable for:
Expansion
- Identifying and launching new branch locations
- Full lifecycle execution: site → setup → operational launch → profitability
Acquisitions
- Sourcing and evaluating acquisition targets
- Negotiating and structuring deals
- Leading due diligence and integration
Standardisation
- Implementing standard workshop layouts and equipment models
- Rolling out SOPs across all branches
- Ensuring ISO-aligned systems (e.g. International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001 principles)
What success looks like (12–24 months)
A successful hire will have:
- Opened multiple profitable branches nationally
- Completed and integrated 2–5 acquisitions
- Implemented standardised workshop systems across all sites
- Improved scalability and operational consistency
- Contributed meaningfully to EBITDA growth through expansion
Requirements:
Expansion Experience
- Built or opened multiple branches/sites
- Hands-on involvement in rollout (not just oversight)
Acquisition Experience
- Direct involvement in buying or selling businesses
- Understanding of valuation, negotiation, and integration
Technical Credibility
- Hydraulic workshop or field service experience
- Able to engage technically with engineers and technicians
Commercial Thinking
- Understands EBITDA, margins, ROI, and payback logic
- Evaluates business opportunities like an owner
Execution Style
- Strong builder mindset
- Comfortable in fast-growth, ambiguous environments
- High autonomy and accountability
