Job Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the administrative, financial risk management, compliance, reporting accuracy, strategic financial planning, and cost efficiency of a large-scale operation. The role works closely with Operations, Distribution, and Group Finance to drive financial performance, optimize working capital, and support sustainable business growth.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Team Management

  • Oversee and manage the Finance Department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Credit Control / Collections.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six (6) staff members across three (3) finance-related departments.
  • Ensure effective delegation, performance management, and staff development within the finance team.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and manage annual financial statements and statutory annual returns.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end financial closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare, review, and submit statutory reports in compliance with all applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with SARS and CIPC regulations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards and company policies.

Financial Planning, Analysis & Control

  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting to support management decision making.
  • Develop, implement, and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Conduct monthly financial forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Estimate short-term and long-term funding requirements to support organizational financial objectives.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and cost controls to improve financial efficiency.

Systems, Processes & Risk Management

  • Manage and continuously improve financial systems, controls, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure effective financial risk management, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Plan, organize, and execute financial tasks and projects in alignment with organizational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

Requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Auditing (essential).
  • Experience: Proven and solid experience in a financial management role.
  • Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in SAP or Sage (essential).
  • Mandarin / Chinese speaker
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax compliance, and reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people-management experience.
