Job Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the administrative, financial risk management, compliance, reporting accuracy, strategic financial planning, and cost efficiency of a large-scale operation. The role works closely with Operations, Distribution, and Group Finance to drive financial performance, optimize working capital, and support sustainable business growth.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Team Management
- Oversee and manage the Finance Department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Credit Control / Collections.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six (6) staff members across three (3) finance-related departments.
- Ensure effective delegation, performance management, and staff development within the finance team.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and manage annual financial statements and statutory annual returns.
- Oversee month-end and year-end financial closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare, review, and submit statutory reports in compliance with all applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with SARS and CIPC regulations.
- Maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards and company policies.
Financial Planning, Analysis & Control
- Provide timely and accurate financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting to support management decision making.
- Develop, implement, and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Conduct monthly financial forecasts and variance analysis.
- Estimate short-term and long-term funding requirements to support organizational financial objectives.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and cost controls to improve financial efficiency.
Systems, Processes & Risk Management
- Manage and continuously improve financial systems, controls, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure effective financial risk management, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
- Plan, organize, and execute financial tasks and projects in alignment with organizational objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Requirements
- Qualification: Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Auditing (essential).
- Experience: Proven and solid experience in a financial management role.
- Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in SAP or Sage (essential).
- Mandarin / Chinese speaker
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax compliance, and reporting standards.
- Demonstrated leadership and people-management experience.
