CHEFS – LINDEN & STEYN CITY

Location: Linden, Randburg / Riverglen, Steyn City, Midrand

Requirements:

• Prepare and cook food according to approved recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure meals are presented attractively, consistently and on time.
• Prepare and portion ingredients correctly before service.
• Coordinate the kitchen team to ensure efficient and timely meal preparation.
• Maintain consistent standards of taste, quality, portion size and presentation.
• Manage food stock and apply first-in, first-out stock-rotation procedures.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with stock counts and ordering.
• Minimise food waste through correct storage, preparation and portion control.
• Maintain clean, organised and hygienic kitchen workstations.
• Enforce food safety, sanitation and hygiene requirements.
• Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
• Supervise, guide and train junior kitchen employees.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism and positive conduct in the kitchen.
• Support the Executive Chef and management with daily kitchen operations.
• Contribute to an exceptional fine-dining experience for customers.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 5 years’ experience in a senior culinary position within high-end, fine-dining establishments.
• Advanced knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation.
• Proven ability to lead, supervise and train kitchen employees.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, stock control and waste management.
• Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
• Ability to maintain quality and consistency under pressure.
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
• A recognised culinary qualification will be highly beneficial.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, Sundays and public holidays.

Working Hours

• Working hours are 195 hours per month.
• One meal provided per shift.
• Overtime paid at 1.5 times the normal rate.
• Sunday work paid at 1.5 times the normal rate.
• Public holiday work paid at twice the normal rate.

  • Early Shift: 07:00 – 17:00
  • Late Shift: 10:00 – 20:00 (Or until the last customers leave; 22:00 at the latest)
  • Day Shift: 07:00 – 16:00
  • Sunday Shift: 08:00 – 17:00
• Shifts – Steyn City
  • 07:00 – 19:00
