Role Overview
Our client is seeking a highly detail-oriented and driven Group Accountant to join their team. This is a trusted and critical role within the organisation, with primary responsibility for Group inventory management across multiple entities, as well as financial oversight and reporting functions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate stock control, financial integrity, and compliance across four group companies.
Minimum Requirements
- BCom Degree in Accounting (NQF Level 6–8)
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant accounting experience
- Strong inventory management experience is essential
- Experience working within a group or multi-entity structure preferred
- Sage Evolution experience will be advantageous
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, reporting) advantageous
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Full responsibility for Group inventory across multiple entities
- Managing and overseeing perpetual stock takes
- Monitoring and managing Work in Progress (WIP)
- Managing and analysing slow-moving and obsolete stock
- Resolving all stock-related queries across the Group
- Maintaining and managing inventory master data
- Liaising with external auditors and coordinating audit requirements relating to inventory
- Ensuring inventory accuracy, controls, and reporting integrity
Financial & Management Accounting
- Preparing monthly management accounts for four group companies
- Assisting with financial reporting and reconciliations
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Assisting with audit preparation and compliance
Additional Responsibilities
- Managing Group insurance administration
- Overseeing fleet purchasing processes
- Managing HP (Hire Purchase) agreements and related reconciliations
- Supporting financial governance and internal controls
